Portrait photos pre lockdown in lockdown!

Last month I was very pleased to see that the a photo I took back in May 2019 in Barcelona, was used by my good friend William Denniss, a Product Manager at Google Cloud for his Google profile photo on the launch of new Google Cloud GKE Autopilot

Its great to see that with a catalogue of photos even when it is impossible to currently take photos due to Covid-19 restrictions, let alone visit other countries, my photos still end up being used the other side of the world.

Much appreciated mate!

More Photography in 2021

With several exciting photography projects in the pipeline post Coivd-19 vaccine, Im finally feeling more inspired to pick up my camera again starting with looking at my photo library.

This photo below was one of the first times I used my camera after lockdown came into effect in 2020, nearly 6 months after Autumn / Winter 2020 London Fashion Week.

Fashion Show Photography in 2021

A year on from the London Fashion Week Mens shows before Covid-19 was really reported when we were enjoying the shows and socialising in the show spaces, clubs and bars talking of what is on the fashion horizon, we didn’t know what else was on the horizon.

The world obviously looks very different now along with what we consider “normal”. For me I can just hope that maybe by the Autumn I can get back into Fashion Show photography and fashion photography in general. For everyone else working in the industry I wish them well and hope that 2021 will look a lot better than 2020 did.

Happy New Year and Stay safe

2020 Photography

Looking back at the year it started with London Fashion Week Mens at the beginning of January.

At that time life as we knew it was still normal, talk in the lounges at the British Fashion Council Show space in Shoreditch was looking ahead to the London Fashion Week shows in February. As well as how the next Menswear Fashion Week might look with its new concept and a post Brexit world for London Fashion. Little did we know then how the year might pan out…..

By the time the photo above was taken at the beginning of February, discussion about how Corona Virus was sweeping across Asia was the main topic.

Then by London Fashion Week in mid February Asian designers preparing to show in London had cancelled but it was relatively normal fashion week. Then the following week shows in Milan were being cancelled / re-designed for the Corona Virus.

4 weeks later here in the UK we went into full Lockdown

From a personal photography point of view it has been a year of reflecting on past photoshoots and events, looking at new processing techniques and able to take some photos over the summer.

Looking ahead to 2021 there is optimism with a vaccine on the horizon and how future fashion weeks might look outside of an online world.

From my point of view i’m simply wishing everyone I know in the Industry all the very best for 2021 and stay safe

Back @ The Shows: London Fashion Week Spring / Summer 19

lfw_ss19_day3_SIMON_MO5-3336

After my introduction to Fashion Show Photography thanks to Fashion Scout AW18 I was lucky enough to have a another photographer’s pass to London Fashion Scout SS19 in September.

Building upon my experiences of shows, I came back with my Fujifilm Xpro2 and their 50-140mm stabilised lens.

Understanding the photos I wanted to capture, from texture to atmosphere and portrait and commercial style full length I attended 14 shows over the 4 day event. I also decided that I would do minimum post processing in order to make sure I knew the settings of the camera were exactly as I wanted. The above picture was my favorite portrait photograph from Fashion Scout SS19 taken at the Simon Mo show on Sunday 16th September of model Michaela Kravarikova.
